Another shite might of sleep, slightly better though since I was able to snag an army cot at the trail angel's place.
Woke up a bit early, hard to break that habit out on trail - updated and caught up the posts on the journal while everyone else slept in.
Packed up with a few others and walked into town. Had a huge breakfast, sent a small package back at the post office, resupplied at the town grocer.
Walked the mile back to the trail and kicked off the day. Between overcast skies and ponderosa pine tree cover for much of the day, I only had to wear my sun hat for a few hours. Someone mentioned it might snow this weekend in Flagstaff, so when I opened up my weather app to check I was greeted with a special achievement called "It puts the sunscreen on its skin", for experiencing a "Dangerously high UV index".
Beautiful day otherwise, walking along the base of what's referred to as the "north rim", a huge sheer cliff face alongside the trail.
Picked up a stomach bug somewhere over the past 24 hours, most likely in town I suppose - stomach cramps galore and other undesirable attributes. Here's to hoping that passes quickly, nothing like trail squirts to make a challenging hike even more so.
