Over the past few weeks things have been falling into place nicely, as they tend to do when you prayerfully make your way through life. I've met a local hiking partner who's helping give me and Mozzie ride down to Georgia, received an incredible amount of support from friends and family (both moral, emotion, and monetary), and had more good days then bad which have allowed me to continue with preparations for the hike, full steam ahead.
Preparations such as:
- determining which combination of items will work best for my trekking pole video setup (video to follow)
- route planning, weather estimates, and weighing everything multiple times
- packing, unpacking, and repacking my pack to determine what exactly goes where
I don't get excited over much in life anymore, but I'm really looking forward to this time away in so many ways. In all honesty, I have a sincere feeling that in the end I'm going to be surprised at which parts of the experience I treasure the most, especially since there are parts of me that are concerned, hesitant, and even scared about leaving.
Now, on to that trekking pole video I promised:
