Slow start today, intentionally so. Not far to walk so I thought I'd take it relatively easy this morning. Slowly packed up, prepared a few snacks for the day, and began plodding up the trail around 0820.
Last of the beautiful and mostly pristine trail inside the national park today. Going to miss it.
Bunch of people out for the day as well seeing that it's Saturday. Not so nice people either, many abusing the land and breaking the rules. Met a few horseback riders, motorized dirt bikes, and mountain bikes on a foot travel only trail today.
None were pleased when I stood in their way and forced them to stop and explained to them what they were doing wrong, some even got aggressive.
Finished the day off walking into the Rodman Campground north of the Kirkpatrick dam. Waited for an hour or two for the kind trail angel to arrive and off we both went to pick up four more hikers for tomorrow's festivities.
Swung by Publix to resupply before heading back to her place. She'd prepared a massive amount of food for us: crackers and cream cheese with sweet and spicy jam, hard salami, chowder, corn bread, salad, brownies, ice cream... it was all pretty fantastic.
Ate a bunch of food, drank a few beers, chatted with the other hikers. Showed, laundry, bed.
Billy Goat day tomorrow. Back to the trail tomorrow night.
