Couldn't get to sleep last night, awake until about 0400 before I crashed. Woke up early to the sound of construction outside, I definitely sleep much better in the wilderness.
Lazy morning, hung out in the soft bed for an hour or two catching up with the world. Took a shower, slowly packed up, tidied up the room. Unpacked all my dirty clothes, found some loaner clothes and threw in the small amount of clothes I carry into the laundry machine on site.
I expected two packages to have arrived already but they weren't there. Figured they'd show up in today's mail, and was correct. Luckily it's a small town so the mail arrived before noon.
Waited for my laundry to finish, packed, had a quick phone call with the wife and a gear company to exchange a piece of faulty gear, and off I went.
Trail walks right through the center of town, so I back tracked to the local gas station to grab a drink before pushing out.
Spent the afternoon walking along the Suwannee River. Feels like an actual single track wilderness trail. Good views, easy to follow, well blazed.
Ended up hiking a bit into the night, mainly because the terrain is heavily sloping down to the water. Managed to find a flat spot just to the side of the trail.
Going to be a few days until civilization.
