Woke up to a ton of frost this morning. Frost on top the tent, condensation on the inside froze, water bottles were slushy.
Cold days are slow to start. I don't usually cook up a hot breakfast but when it's that cold it feels good to get something warm in your tummy.
Pretty straightforward day. Beautiful weather, amazing views. Encountering a bit more snow, but nothing crazy yet.
Cutthroat Pass was a confusing mess. A few different trails come together here and the signage is pretty poor. Found out later quite a few people ended up going the wrong way here.
Made it to route twenty and got a hitch in about twenty minutes. It's approximately fifty miles into town, a bit long but there are no real amenities closer.
Stopped in Mazama first, but pushed onto Winthrop instead after seeing the prices in their store in addition to the fact there's no wifi or cell service in the area.
Second hitch was quick, a PCT section hiker on his way to town. He gave me a quick tour of the town and dropped me off at the grocery store where I grabbed all the supplies and food I need for the 120 miles.
Spending the night in town, I'll push out first thing tomorrow morning.
