Didn't sleep well last night, woke up pretty early as well. In a pretty bad mood as well, things just weren't feeling good today.
Hiked for a few hours in a pretty sullen and depressed mood. Managed thirteen miles and some change before calling it quits for the day.
Around 1300 I pulled in by a beautiful lake and walked a bit around it for some privacy. Found a nice spot right by the water and setup my tent.
No real plan, just thought it'd be good to relax a bit. Went for a swim in the lake, cleaned all my clothes, and hung out in he tent avoiding the clouds of mosquitos.
Took a nap, ate a bunch of food, watched some Netflix.
Did some minor surgery on my left boot, apparently a rock got inside through the ever growing crevice in the material across the toes, and managed to get under the sole somehow and create a lump. I thought it was just a manufacturing defect in the material, but it was such a big lump that it created a blister on the side of my toe over the past week - so I cut the shoe open and managed to dislodge the thumbnail sized rock for good. Had to drain a toe blister as well, but since the lump in the boot is gone I shouldn't have any problems with the blister and it'll heal on its own.
Sun is setting, and there's a small group of teenage boys across the lake singing and galavanting about around a fire.
What I wouldn't give to have a mind like that again - to be able to actually enjoy and get pleasure from a night out camping with friends.
