Woke up refreshed and well rested around 0530. Can't say that's happened very often to me - guess it was a good decision to take a half day yesterday. Packed up and out of camp around 0615, ready for the day with a little bakery pie in hand for my breakfast on the go.
Tons of people on the trail today. Mostly north bounders who flipped up, a few day hikers as well.
Uneventful day otherwise. Stopped for an early dinner by a stream and ate some mystery food from my hiker box resupply labeled "skillet". Turned out to be dehydrated eggs, cheese, sausage, and red / green peppers, so I ended up making breakfast burritos out out of my extra tortillas. They were delicious!
Hiked to my original stopping point around twenty seven miles, but it was still too early and a little too close to the road, so I loaded up on water and hiked uphill to an abandoned forest service road and dry camped instead.
Twenty five miles to the bridge of the gods, town, and the border of Washington and Oregon.
