Really windy last night. Slept fitfully.
Ended up on the ledge of a rocky cliff with beautiful views in the morning. Out of camp by 0815, which isn't too bad I suppose since I was hiking until 2230 and didn't get settled down until about 45 minutes later.
Another uneventful day, scenery wasn't too fantastic and after the first fifteen miles it was mostly downhill.
After eating lunch I was smoothing out the hairs of my beard around my mouth with my lips and found a piece of something in my beard. Before I knew it, the piece of something was in my mouth! Horrified, I was about to spit it out before I realized... it was a piece of baloney from earlier. First time *that's* ever happened.
Made it to Belden Town around 1830, just before the restaurant closed for the night. Had myself some sort of western burger with onion rings and barbecue sauce on it.
Bumped into two other hikers I have had conversations with previously, Band Camp and Puddin'. BC is unfortunately leaving the trail because of work, but the other is continuing south.
Camping just south of the town tonight by the river in some very sandy soil. Proved difficult to set the tent up, but with enough rocks anything is possible.
Discovered my air mattress had a series of slits cut into if, three in total, all in a line spread about ten inches apart. For the life of me I can't figure out how they got there, since my tent has no cuts or holes in the bottom and the slits cut into my mattress are so linear, equally spaced, and symmetrical.
The patch kit that comes with the mattress says to let the patches dry for 24 hours, but I also have some Tenacious Tape with me as well. Slapped the TT on all the holes, and surprisingly, after an hour being patched and me lying on the mat, they're still holding. We'll see what comes of it in the morning.
