Woke up a bit after sunrise in the bedroom of the trail angel's 13 year old son. Captain America themed blankets and an open window, it was pretty much perfect.
Slowly packed up, did my morning routine, headed downstairs. Angel cooked me some bacon and eggs and we talked about life and other such topics over coffee.
Angel drove me back to the spur trail that leads down into down, so back up I climbed to rejoin the PCT. 2.1 miles and 2,000 feet of elevation, but it was worth it to meet an awesome family and spend time with them.
Walked the eight miles or so to the road where most hikers head into town, decided that the burrito I had yesterday was just too delicious so I hitched back into town. Grabbed a breakfast burrito and another cup of coffee, FaceTimed with the wife as I ate. Got a free donut as well since the bakery was closing.
Hitched back out to the trail and continued on my way. Hiked up from town over Baden-Powell, 9,000 feet up. Beautiful ridge walking as the sun set, I hiked later into the evening to get some miles in.
Tenting on a ridge tonight overlooking a beautiful valley way down below, the sparkling lights of the town shimmering away. Still above 8,000 feet, and my fingers are getting numb as I type. Going to be one of those "wear all your clothes" nights, and I probably won't be getting up before first light,
