Up with the sun, smashed some snacks and packed up quick. Wanted to move quick today to be in town at a reasonable time since I didn't set an alarm.
Mostly downhill today, a few ups but nothing too serious.
Late morning I came across a trail magic cooler full of soda. Left a few dollars, grabbed a few sodas, drank them as I walked.
Managed to get to town early in the afternoon, although the day did drag on. Walked through a county preserve just before town with loads of cool rock formations. Many striations of color with divots and holes in the rock.
Walked into town and straight for the local Mexican restaurant. After eating I grabbed a few snacks from the grocery store and hoofed it to a local trail angel's home.
This place is amazing. Twenty two years running, the Saufley's have hosted PCT hikers. They've thought of pretty much everything, and have amenities galore.
I slowly unpacked while chatting with one or two people who I met previously, ended up chatting with one of the volunteers for a few minutes as well, asking all kinds of questions about the trail ahead and the trail angel's setup here.
Finally showered, picked up my packages, and put my things away in a small yurt for the night. Rode down to the grocery store and bought items for dinner and breakfast, made my way back to the angel's place, made myself dinner of macaroni and cheese with chorizo and stewed tomatoes, finishing off the night drinking a beer by the fire.
Managed a yurt to myself, a real wonder since there are over thirty hikers here tonight.
Will make breakfast in the morning, send off some broken gear to the manufacturers, and head out probably around mid-day.
