Slept in a little bit this morning, out by 0730.
Much uphill today, not much to do but take it slow.
Got my first taste of the southern Sierra today. The trees and grasses at altitude are definitely changing, more larger rock formations and mountainous hills dot the landscape. While the trail did dump us back into the desert for the afternoon, it appears the desert landscape is waning fast.
Afternoon became extremely windy, and with no real places to camp the few flat spots that I came across weren't really viable due to the wind. Ended up hiking until well after dark before finding a place to sleep. Luckily for me no one else was here, only one spot with no other viable spots for miles.
Another full day of walking tomorrow, then into town. Have a package coming in on Monday, but I'll be arriving into town mid Sunday. Just have to hang out until Monday morning.
